Hodges Trial Lawyers, P.C. excited to kick off 10th annual toy drive for Kids To Love
In 2013, local attorney Jeremiah Hodges happened to hear a morning news story that Toys for Tots was going to be 1300 families short. Growing up in a family where Christmas was a really big deal, this really bothered him. Literally, on a drive into the office, he had an idea. Being active in the state and local bar associations, he knew the legal community, had a history of stepping up for local charity organizations. So, he made it his mission to start contacting local lawyers for donations and to no one’s surprise, he was met with overwhelming generosity.
The firm began a partnership with Kids to Love, a wonderful, local non-profit serving foster children across north Alabama. Throughout November to mid-December the firm collects new, unwrapped toys and charitable donations.
The fun part is when the firm employees take the donations and play Santa Claus with a shopping list from Kids to Love. These kids have been through so much, they often don’t think they will get what they really want for Christmas. We get to make that happen and it’s a blessing for us to be able to do it.
What started as a small token to give back, has grown into its 10th year.
Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger and I am always amazed by the generosity of people. This toy drive is the high point of the year for me and my staff, I truly believe, we get more out of it than the kids do. Our whole team truly looks forward to this all year.
From a small one day effort, to an annual tradition, our firm is proud of the thousands of toys and dollars collected for Kids to Love and Toys for Tots. We are sure that 2022 will be our biggest year yet.
